Over the course of the next 8 weeks, you are going to practice and improve your  foundation habits that will make eating healthy, losing weight, or maintaining your weight almost mindless. This Level 1 Nutrition Course has been designed first and foremost to hold you accountable to your daily practice and second to educate and help you understand the “why” behind each practice. The habits have been specifically chosen and ordered to build on each other. Some habits will be as short as 7 days while more challenging habits will be 14 days in length.  I hope you are as excited as I am to get started.  But, before we can I want to lay out a few housekeeping items. 

Below are a few items I would like you to review before the course starts.

Check-in “Yes” or “No” Daily

Each day around, 9 am (you can change this time if you want in your settings), you will be asked your check-in question for the day. Don’t worry you won’t have to remember, the system will prompt you via email or the app (if you have downloaded it). The question will follow a format like “Did you do X yesterday?” and will relate to the habit practice you are working on. These check-ins are a quick way for you to touch base with me, your coach.  If I see a few “no” check-ins in a row or see you are not checking in I will be reaching out to you. These daily check-ins allow me to give you the accountability you need to be successful. There is nothing “bad” or “wrong” about answering “no.” I don’t expect you to be perfect, I simply want you to try your best each day to practice the programmed habit. If you forget to check-in one day you can go back to that day and answer it.

Read Your Lessons Daily 

After your check-in, you will be re-directed to the lesson for that day. If the lesson is new give it a quick read. If the lesson appears to be the same as yesterday, that means you don’t have any reading for that day so sit back, relax, and focus on practicing your habit.  For most habits, in the beginning, you will receive new lessons almost daily. Don’t worry, the lessons are short, think 5 minutes or less to read. As a habit progresses, the lessons will get a little more sporadic as your focus will be more on the “doing” rather than the learning. If you ever miss a lesson you can always go back by clicking the little arrows at the bottom of the lesson if you are on a computer or if you are on the smartphone app by selecting a different day at the top of the screen.

Notifications in Email or App (My Coach by Coach Catalyst)

You have the ability to choose how you get your check-in questions and notifications. Everything starts via email, but all email communication will end once you download the app. If you would like to turn email notifications back on after downloading the app simply go to your app settings and swipe email notifications back on.  You should have already received a “Welcome Email” when I added you to this program. If you can’t find it, please check your spam folder.  In that welcome email are details about the app and your specific app code. Use this code as your password when you are signing up for the app or use the same password you set-up on your browser.  If you have misplaced the welcome email send me a message and I will re-send it.

Messaging 

Communication is extremely important and I want to make it as convenient as possible for you to get a hold of me.  You can shoot me a personal message at any time by clicking the message tab in the app or the little inbox at the top of your browser if you are on a computer.  This message comes straight to my inbox (like email) and I will get back to you as soon as possible.   This is the best way for us to communicate.
